Self Recording cameras are "all in one" devices that do not need any interface with any other device to record
These cameras contain both the camera itself, and the internal memory (or SD card slot) needed to save the video
Video recordings are saved to either internal memory or to a removable SD or Micro SD Card

Self Recording Hidden Cameras FAQs:
Where are the video files recorded to? The location of the saved video varies by device - it's either to internal memory, or to a removable memory card, such as an SD card or a Micro SD card. The vast majority (over 90%) of our self-recording hidden cameras record to a removable memory card, which makes playback easy on either a PC or Mac computer. With the devices with internal memory, you'll need to use the included USB cable to connect the recording device directly to your computer to view recorded video files.
How are self recording hidden cameras powered? These types of hidden cameras can be powered by either AC power, or by battery power. AC powered hidden cameras allow round-the-clock recording because there aren't battery life concerns to worry about. On the other hand, battery powered hidden cameras are also very useful because they are extremely portable and many can also be used outdoors. In the end, deciding which power supply to go with depends on the type of application for which you'll be using your hidden camera.
What video player should I use to watch my recorded files? In most cases, the standard video player included on your computer will work fine (Windows Media Player, QuickTime, etc). However we always recommend using VLC Media Player, which is a free download, and included all the latest video codecs. This can be useful if you haven't updated your video drivers in a while, which can sometimes result in video showing all black.
How easy it to set up these hidden cameras? Almost all of these cameras are ready to go out of the box. Self recording hidden cameras are easier to set up than internet streaming hidden cameras because there is no other device to configure or pair the camera or recorder with. In most cases, you'll be able to take the camera out of the box, insert a memory card, and it will be ready to record. Many devices also have additional configurations or user adjustable options, if you'd like to customize your recording.
